IT skill center in Kathmandu

We are building an IT skill center in the heart of Kathmandu. In this building, we will also have new offices for the co-workers of Cunina. The expanding administration of Cunina in Nepal urgently needs a new and bigger place.

Why has Cunina started this project?

In Kathmandu, we are building an IT skill center where youngsters can build and improve their computer skills. This way they will find a job much quicker and be able to escape poverty. We also have offices for our expanding administration in this building.

What has Cunina done in the past?

In the beginning of 2016, we started looking for suitable building land in Kathmandu. It was quite a task, because the city is already filled with buildings and the prices have skyrocketed after the earthquake. Thankfully, we found a spot not far from the Alpine Valley Boarding School, our partner school. We immediately started drawing up the plans. In August 2016, we started laying the foundations.

What will Cunina do in the future?

We will continue the construction of the skill center, so we can have the official opening in the summer of 2017. We will also furnish the building and buy the appropriate teaching materials for the IT students. Our entire administration department in Nepal will move permanently to our own office building.
We work together with the local community and use local materials to support the local economy and create jobs.
